Frequently Asked Questions
1. What happens if I don’t assign a customer tier?
Customers who aren’t assigned to a tier will not be eligible for tier-specific discounts. You can set auto-classification or assign them manually.
2. Can I run both fixed amount off and volume-based discounts in one campaign?
Yes. You can combine multiple discount types within a single campaign using DiscountWisp’s multi-rule engine.
3. What happens when I edit a live campaign?
Editing a running campaign splits it into two:
- The existing version ends immediately
- A new version with updated rules and dates starts from the specified start date
4. How are conflicting discounts handled?
If multiple rules apply, the highest discount is automatically prioritized, unless configured otherwise.
5. Can I use DiscountWisp with other discount apps or Shopify Scripts?
Yes, but it’s not recommended. For best results, use DiscountWisp as the sole discount logic engine to avoid conflicts.
6. Do I need to assign a discount tag to customers manually?
No. DiscountWisp uses customer tiers , not tags. Once a customer is assigned to a tier, either manually or automatically, they’ll receive applicable discounts based on the campaigns configured for that tier.
7. Can a customer belong to more than one tier?
Yes. With DiscountWisp, a customer can belong to multiple tiers at the same time. This is especially useful when customers fit into different segments — for example, both a “Wholesale Buyer” and a “Loyalty VIP”.
When multiple discount rules apply due to multi-tier membership, the highest eligible discount is automatically applied at checkout to ensure customers always receive the best offer.
8. Will customers see discount prices on the storefront?
Yes. Eligible customers will see discounted prices on product pages, cart, and checkout, but only if they are assigned to a tier included in an active campaign. The original and discounted price will display on cart and checkout pages just like native Shopify discounts.
9. Can I schedule campaigns for future dates?
Absolutely. DiscountWisp lets you pre-schedule campaigns by selecting a future start and end date. Great for launching festive sales, clearance events, or B2B contract renewals.
10. What happens when a campaign ends?
Once the end date is reached, the campaign is automatically deactivated. Discounts tied to that campaign will no longer apply. You can always duplicate or relaunch it with updated rules.
11. Can I apply discounts to specific variants only?
Yes. During campaign creation, you can select specific product variants , entire products, or product collections to target. This gives you fine-grained control over discount eligibility.
12. What happens if two campaigns overlap for the same product and tier?
DiscountWisp will apply only the best discount — the one that offers the higher value to the customer. It intelligently resolves overlaps to avoid stacking or conflicts.
13. Can customers upgrade their tier automatically over time?
If you have auto-approval enabled, customers can be reassigned to higher tiers based on updated order history or volume projections. Manual reassignment by the merchant is also supported.
